Hello Families,

Don't forget tomorrow (Monday, 4/16) is the district-sponsored field trip to the Museum of Natural Science that supports the state of Texas science objectives for 4th grade. We will leave at 9:00 and return at 12:45. Students must wear their red Roberts shirt and bring a sack lunch and drink.

We will do our final preparations for the STAAR test this week. We will do a STAAR practice test and review the Benchmarks taken a few weeks ago. We continue to focus on strategies to find answers. We will also continue our Journalism unit of study as we focus on writing in the 3rd person, review the Texas Revolution and prepare for a test, and begin discussing erosion and rocks.

I have been so impressed and exicted with the students' interest in volcanoes and earthquakes! They have truly been inquirers for "Rock, Rattle, and Roll" and I am so pleased with their initiative on doing independent experiments. I wish we could spend more time on it; they are having so much fun! We will begin our final planner "Art 101" with a focus on Greek architecture and mythology. Liz Spencer from Young Audiences will work with us on this planner and she will be with us on Tuesday to kick things off. Again, I am so impressed with the interest the students have in this topic.

I will be sending home Scholastic book order forms in Tuesday's folder and there are some mythology titles available. Instructions for online ordering will also be included. Orders will be due on April 23.

Have a great week!
