Hi Parents,
It's almost here--the STAAR test is coming on Tuesday (math) and Wednesday (reading). We have spent the last two weeks very focused on preparing with test-taking strategies, practice tests, and skill reviews. I know it is not the most exciting thing to do, but it is what must be done. Please talk with your child about remaining focused, reading all answer choices, and double checking their responses on their answer document before turning them in. The tests are timed (4 hours). Monday morning will be devoted to reading and then after recess we will spend the rest of the day going over math using "jeopardy" game format, Brainpop, and powerpoint presentations.
Thank you to the many families who have ordered books so far, orders are being accepted until tomorrow (Monday, April 23). Our Field Trip to the Museum of Natural Science was excellent and a great review of many of the topics we have covered this year. The rain did not deter us from learning!
Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep on Monday and Tuesday, has a good breakfast, and receives hugs and kisses and doses of confidence as we undertake the first STAAR tests!
