It feels like winter is here! Hi Families-

This week we will...

Writing: focusing on details, HISD Writing Benchmark on Thursday

Reading: Context Clues; Camp Read-a-Lot on Tuesday (also Valentine's Day). Students may wear pajamas if they choose, bring flashlights, pillows, small blankets/beach towel (no sleeping bags, please), and of course, books to enjoy morning of reading.

Math: Chapter 6 Test on Monday, introduction of fractions

Social Studies: The Bill of Rights and other Amendments to the Constitution.

Science: Learned vs. Inherited Behavior as forms of adaptation

Tuesday is Valentine's Day; Katherine's mom is sending cupcakes and supplies to make Valentine cards for our parents that we will do after lunch and before Ancillary (we go to the Library on Tuesdays at 2:15). Children may bring Valentines for classmates; we are down to 18 students now. If they would like to make some sort of Valentine box at home, that's fine; otherwise, we will decorate a bag in class. We will keep it simple and low-key since it's also Camp Read-a-Lot.
