Hi Parents and welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. I am excited to be your child's teacher this year and we have a busy year full of learning ahead and working together, we can accomplish great things.
The first week will be a week of establishing a daily routine, expectations and guidelines, and beginning to assess (formally and informally) students. As you are aware, 4th grade is a significant year of tests and we jump right into it. I will use this blog as one of the tools to keep you informed of what we are doing and what is coming up; I update on Sundays.
Thanks to all of the families who came to Meet the Teacher and please try to return the information sent home with you as soon as possible.
On Friday (31st), students will take their first Spelling Test (high frequency words list 1), Wordly Wise Vocabulary (Quiz 1), and a Multiplication Quiz. For those students who read 5 (or more!) books over the summer, there will be a special treat for them on Friday--if they return the form sent home from their last Tuesday folder in 3rd grade. If that note was misplaced, please have them write the names and authors of the books read and that will suffice.
