Hi Families,

This week's focus-

Writing: finishing last week's prompt on Monday (the time I helped someone) and beginning to study prompts to determine if they will be expository or personal narratives. We will also continue to revise and edit passages; this week's will be done for a grade.

Reading: Summarizing skills and strategies and Book Clubs.

Math: Division using partial quotients algorithm. Students did much better on the multiplication last week; 4 students completed the 50 basic fact quiz in 1 minute! 90% of the class completed the quiz in 3 minutes or less. Our goal is 50 in one minute and we will repeat again in February.

Science: Animal adaptations and inherited traits

Social Studies: The parts of the Constitution with a focus on the 3 branches of government and their roles.

We will be going to MainStreet Theater on February 22 to see "Jackie and Me". We are reading the book in class. Permission slips will come home in the Tuesday folder with more information.
