Benchmark testing is over and we can resume our regular day! Progress reports will come home on Tuesday as we are mid-way through the 2nd quarter. We will also visit the book fair as a class on Tuesday. This week we will:

Writing: Introducing Expository Writing and its components; identifying genres of writing
Reading: Comprehension and Inferring skills. Please save a grocery receipt for an inferring activity we will be doing on Thursday. Students may bring them to school before Thursday and I will keep them until we need them. Book Clubs are proceeding and most of the students are being very diligent and responsible about their roles. I will continue to remind them the value of doing their part in order to have smooth and flowing discussion; they must be prepared when they meet. Book Clubs meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Math: Decimals-estimation, addition/subtraction, and usage in money
Social Studies: Complete Chapter 3 (Early People and Settlers); review for test
Science: Matter continuing measuring and the properties of matter

Have a good week; we have almost made it to Thanksgiving Break!
