Another amazing International Festival was held last Friday! Especially exciting was that 5 of our students showcased their musical skills on the outdoor stage! Roberts is truly a community of dedicated parents and students.
The first reporting period has ended and report cards will be coming home in the next few weeks. The second quarter begins this week and we are working on these skills:
Writing: Crafting strong leads and students will be given their first writing prompt on Thursday as we are well underway in our preparation for STAAR writing.
Reading: Beginning a unit on character study and story elements. We also continue to listen to Hank the Cowdog as preparation for Literature Circles and the jobs and responsibilities of each member of the group.
Math: Continue to work on those multiplication facts as we introduce divison, review rounding/estimation skills as we do some measurement.
Science: Wrapping up the IB planner "Going Green" with a final review of energy sources and alternative forms of energy.
Social Studies: Continue learning about the regions of Texas and prepare for the Chapter 2 test.
I will be posting a conference sign-up sheet on our classroom door. If there is not a time that meets your needs, please let me know and we can work out an alternate time.
I believe cooler weather is on the way; enjoy the fall days!
